Picking up from last week's session at the NAB one of the points Jim Rushton from the Miami Dolphins made is the importance of being a good brand ambassador.  It's a simple concept but can be difficult to implement. To the business community you are part of the team because of the PBP partnership. Respect it, guard it and treat the team just like you do your own brand. Be a steward of the brand! The team is not your enemy.; they're your partner so work with them. This doesn't mean you're soft on-air. If the team is not performing or making mistakes you address it. Just do it in professional manner with no personal attacks.

Another point from Jim is leveraging your assets. The example he shared was the station calling day of game and wanting to get an important client on the sidelines. It worked out and was a win-win for everyone. The message here is don't be afraid to ask.

Next blog will highlight comments from Tom Ricketts, the Cubs owner, and John McDonough President of the Chicago Blackhawks.
