It is amazing how often I run into a situation where working with talent I find that their idea of show prep is just ot list the things they are going to talk about on the show. Show prep is more than a topic list! Show prep is not only knowing what topics, issues and stories you are going to talk about but WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO SAY ABOUT THEM!  How are you going to say it? How are you going to support your position? Highlighting and reinforcing your main point so the audience clearly understands where you are going and why you are going there. Listeners don't get excited about information; they are compelled to listen when you give them a meaningful perspective on it!
